This private tour will take you to the most emblematic sites of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, where the famous Port wines are made, aged and stored which, together with the local gastronomy, in the local fish restaurants is an experience to remember.
Day 1 Galicia Porto
This wonderful tour will take us from Galicia to Porto, where we will visit the city and its most emblematic places, the Tower of the Clerigos, Carmo church, the Cathedral, Station of Sao Bento, etc. Cross to Vila Nova de Gaia, the cradle of Port wine, there we will visit a winery and take a boat trip on the Douro River. To eat we have selected a typical Portuguese restaurant. From Porto, we will go to Peso da Regua in the heart of the Douro Valley. We will take a panoramic train that will take us upriver to Pinhao and then return on the same train to Peso da Regua, where we will enjoy a pleasant Portuguese dinner. Several hotel accommodation options are available for you to choose from. (not included).
Day 2 Douro Valley
The Douro Valley is the place where Port wines are made, as well as the still ones, which you can taste while enjoying spectacular views of this unique part of the world. This day we will enjoy the impressive landscape. visiting the S. Leonardo viewpoint, then heading towards Pinhao and enjoying the impressive views, we will visit a Quinta (wineries) where we will taste their wines, then we will eat in a typical restaurant in the area and then go to Pinhao and embark on a classic “ravelo” that will take us to the river to return to start returning to Santiago, stopping, to visit the Mateus Palace.
