The Ribeira Sacra, with the “heroic viticulture” and its canyons and impressive landscapes and finally Valdeorras, where Godello and Mencia grapes, delight the most demanding palates, and of course all this accompanied by the local gastronomy,  so important in Galicia, that you cannot miss.

 Day 1 Rías Baixas

Our journey will commence with a captivating visit to a distinguished winery in the Salnés Valley region, renowned for its exceptional Albariños. You’ll have the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of the winemaking process, gaining a comprehensive understanding of its artistry. Following this enriching experience, you’ll be whisked away to the picturesque harbor of Combarro for a delightful catamaran excursion to the “bateas,” where the renowned Galician mussels are cultivated. These delectable mussels will be served fresh during the scenic boat trip.

Next on our itinerary is a “Furancho”, where a typical Galician lunch awaits. The afternoon unfolds with a visit to another very peculiar winery, providing yet another chance to savour the region’s wine culture. Our day concludes in the charming town of Cambados, where you will rest for the night in the comfortable accommodations of the Parador(*).

  Day 2 the border with Portugal

 Today we will embark on a picturesque journey tracing the southwest coast of Galicia to the Miño River, the natural frontier with Portugal. Revel in the breathtaking landscapes, with stops at captivating locales such as Bayona and Santa María de Oia. Our midday reprieve unfolds at a charming seaside spot by the monastery, offering a delightful lunch experience.

Following our coastal exploration, we venture to Monte Santa Tecla, where prehistoric Celtic settlements and awe-inspiring views of Portugal and the Atlantic await. The day takes a vinicultural turn with a visit to a distinguished winery in the Rosal area with a tasting of their different Albariño wines,  before crossing into Portugal. A brief detour leads us to Valença do Minho, where we explore its historic fortress. Concluding the day, we make our way to Tuy for a restful night at its welcoming Parador.

Day 3 Ribeiro & Ribeira Sacra

Today’s itinerary begins with a visit to the enchanting Ribeiro region, where we’ll explore one of its most distinctive wineries, immersing ourselves in the essence of the local terroir. Our journey continues to the captivating Ribeira Sacra, where we’ll delve into the charm of a small winery nestled along the scenic Miño River, savoring its exceptional wines.

Following a flavorsome lunch at a nice local restaurant, we embark on a picturesque drive along the river canyon. Our next destination is another winery, this time nestled by the Sil River with fantastic views of its canyons. If time permits, we may board a catamaran to witness the grandeur of the canyons from the river. A visit to a scenic viewpoint awaits before we head to Monforte de Lemos for a restful night at its welcoming Parador(*).

Day 4 Valdeorras & the Romans

On our final day, we’ll explore the Valdeorras Designation of Origin, a region renowned for showcasing the Godello grape in all its vibrant freshness.

Tracing the course of the Sil River, our journey takes us to the expansive open-pit gold mine, once a pivotal site in the Roman Empire and now proudly recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From there, we’ll proceed to Valdeorras, where we’ll visit an old abandoned cellar in a cave and learn about the winemaking process during a visit to a local winery. A delightful culinary experience awaits as we share a meal and sample exquisite wines with the skilled winemaker inside his winery while enjoying the views of the valley.

As our day unfolds, we’ll gradually make our way back, cherishing the memories of this remarkable journey that has taken us through the diverse and captivating landscapes of Galicia.
